MOSQUITOES

Mosquitoes are a constant nuisance to humans and also carry deadly diseases and epidemics. Mosquito bites often cause severe itching and allergic reactions.
Mosquitoes reproduce in humid environments, proliferating especially in stagnant water.

How can we contain their invasion?

Keeping doors and windows closed and/or installing insect screens.
Checking indoor and outdoor areas for pools of stagnant water.

Mosquito treatment

Larvicidal treatments: to be carried out in spring. They kill the larvae and minimise the growth of adult mosquitoes.

We recommend the use of anti-larval products such as:

Mayer Antilavarli tablets: effervescent tablets that dissolve on contact with water and kill the larvae within hours.
The Larvamayer Line is an ecological alternative. On contact with water the product creates a thin film on the surface that blocks the development of the larvae.

Larvamayer Block: ideal for manholes and stagnant water.

Larvamayer Capsule: specifically for pot plant saucers and planter boxes.

Treatments for adult mosquitoes are carried out by spraying water-diluted product concentrate with spray bottles or backpack sprayers.

Cypermayer: Light Insecticide Concentrate. Broad spectrum acting concentrate, with a lower concentration of ingredients. A less toxic product which is still effective. To be used with a spray bottle or backpack sprayer.

Formulamayer: Concentrate Plus Insecticide. The latest concentrate; containing vegetable based solvents. An effective alternative which is less toxic:

Specifically for eradicating mosquitoes outdoors.

Can be used on plants without damaging them.

It is a very effective product thanks to the triple concentration of the active ingredients.

Professional intervention is essential because these insects transmit diseases and pose a serious risk to hygiene.

There is more than one type of cockroach treatment. Each species responds differently to each method. After inspecting the premises and analysing the nature and extent of the infestation the exterminator will choose the most suitable treatment.

The German cockroach, the Oriental cockroach and the American cockroach are the most common species in Italy.

Cockroaches are light-sensitive. They spend their lives hiding in cracks, near sinks, drains, stoves and behind appliances, etc.

How do we work?

Inspection: We thoroughly inspect the area to be treated in order to understand the type of parasite and the level of infestation. Cockroaches are most active in the dark so the inspection needs to be carried out in as little light as possible, possibly in the dark using a torch.

Treatment: Various treatments may be used, varying in levels of aggressiveness, from gels to professional liquid insecticides, depending on the species to be exterminated.

Monitoring: A vital part of the pest control service, monitoring reveals the progress of the ongoing infestation.

We prepare a detailed report of the services performed and make recommendations for future prevention.

How long do cockroaches survive without food?

They can survive up to a month without ingesting food, but typically die within a week without water. They are attracted to warm and humid places where there is food. They are omnivorous and will even eat organic materials such as cardboard or glue.

Are cockroaches harmful?

Since these pests are known to inhabit drains, toilets and dumpsters, they tend to collect and carry pathogens and bacteria that are harmful to humans. Be sure to wash your hands or any part of your body that has come into contact with the pest.

It is necessary to contact a professional exterminator because it’s very difficult to eradicate them with DIY products.

Very often bed bugs enter our homes via contaminated suitcases or clothing.

Comprehensive bed bug management

To obtain the best results we combine dry steam treatments and professional insecticides. Sometimes, the presence of bedbugs is evident to the naked eye because dark patches (faeces) form on mattresses and pillowcases. To be sure, we swab surfaces to check prior to carrying out any treatments.

Before treatment it is essential:

  1. To thoroughly vacuum the area to be inspected and treated.
  2. Seal the vacuum cleaner bag and dispose of it safely.
  3. Strip the bed and wash the linen at a minimum temperature of 60°C.

We also provide bedbug extermination for companies in the hospitality and tourism sector, and for property management agencies.

All of our services are carried out discreetly and effectively.

The bedbugs are eradicated at high temperatures with non-toxic dry steam. This method is one the safest for removing any eggs found during inspection.

The heat produced by the steam, which reaches temperatures of up to 180°C, can penetrate holes, cracks and crevices in furniture.

Why is it important for a professional to eradicate wasp nests?

It is advisable to contact a pest control professional to remove a wasp nest efficiently and safely because wasps become aggressive when they feel threatened. We have the best products on the market and the experience to do so.

  • Here are some basic general steps to remove wasp nests:
Assess the size and location of the nest to determine the best approach to remove it safely.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as special suits, gloves and masks, to avoid getting stung.
  • Apply the suitable spray and/or foaming insecticides

After the insecticide has taken effect, the professional will completely remove the nest safely.

The professional can recommend preventive measures to avoid the appearance of new wasp nests in the future. This could include sealing any potential entry points into your property, such as cracks in walls or holes in the roof.

Wasp nests, home to thousands of wasps, increase rapidly in number as spring and summer approach. It is important to act quickly to reduce the risk being stung.
A wasp sting is memorable because it can cause serious problems for people who are allergic (anaphylactic shock).
It is advisable to act quickly and safely as soon as you notice more than two or three wasps to prevent the infestation from worsening because there is probably a nest nearby.

We are specialists in the quick and safe removal of all species of wasp nests, from the common wasp to the vespa bicolour/black shield wasp, etc.

We comply with all of the regulations for the management, control and eradication of wasps.

We offer tailor-made solutions for homes, businesses and outdoor facilities, identifying the best treatment based on the type of infestation.

In the event that they are bees we will contact a beekeeper because they are protected by law.

How to distinguish a bee from a wasp

You can distinguish a wasp from a bee by their colours.

Wasps have very bright colours, predominately yellow and black. Bees, on the other hand, have a dark, golden brown color, not bright yellow.

Bees have a lot of hair all over their bodies, while wasps have almost none.

Wasps have a narrowing between the thorax and abdomen, while bees do not.

If an ant invasion is small you may intervene on your own, but if the infestation is serious it is better to contact a specialised company that will thoroughly analyse the problem and plan the most effective treatment.

Ants are social insects. Although they adapt easily they prefer sunny climates.
People generally don’t like ants because they spread germs and bacteria and can contaminate food.

How to identify and prevent ants

Ants invade buildings to find food for their colony.
Follow this advice to prevent an ant infestation:

  1. Keep shelves and cabinets where food is stored clean.
  2. Keep food containers closed to prevent these insects from being attracted by sugar, honey, etc.
  3. Do not leave food residue on dishes and wash them immediately after meals, if possible.
  4. Empty garbage bins frequently.
  5. Avoid having plants in the kitchen and/or home.
  6. Clean up any food residue immediately if pets are present.

Flies are annoying and dangerous insects for humans and domestic and farm animals.

They transmit many diseases such as typhoid fever, rabies and salmonellosis.

Extermination of flies

To effectively exterminate flies It is necessary to carry out an inspection first.
Intervention methods:

  1. Attractive bait indoors and outdoors
  2. Application of insecticidal products
  3. Installation of U.V. Lamps
  4. Adhesive plates

To prevent flies it is important:

  • Keep doors and windows closed and/or use insect screens
  • Avoid leaving food scraps lying around
  • Prevent water pooling or stagnating

Columbines, especially pigeons and turtle doves, that live in urban areas are a pest for both the health sector (because they transmit diseases and carry parasites) and the economic sector (because their excrement damages buildings and sculptures).

They have become extremely problematic in many places due to increasing populations thanks to a lack of predators, space to nest and the availability of food and water.

Columbids (Columbidae) are a family of birds of the Columbiformes which include pigeons and doves.

There are approximately 308 species throughout the world.

Their nests, made of small branches, are usually weak. They generally hold two eggs which are incubated by both sexes.

Naturally, pigeons feed on seeds and fruits.

Both sexes feed their young with crop milk, a very nutritious secretion secreted by some special cells.

In addition to having an excellent sense of direction, pigeons have very acute sight and are one of the fastest birds, reaching speeds of up to 56 km/h.

They are found in cities and rural areas. Many people enjoy watching them and feeding them in city parks and squares.

They use bridges, buildings and statues, etc. for resting, roosting, and nesting.
In rural areas they live in farmyards, stables, granaries and towers, etc.
In general, pigeons are animals that tend to feed, rest and nest and rest in the same places, protected at high altitudes.

Pigeons are a nuisance because they cover buildings, benches, statues and vehicles with their droppings. In addition to looking and smelling awful their droppings are problematic because they permanently stain, corrode and prematurely oxidise metal structures and other objects. Furthermore, their nests can block water drains.

Pigeons are a threat to human health because they carry mites, that can cause allergic reactions, and pathogenic organisms.

Bird repellent methods

To achieve the best results we recommend combining 2 different methods:

Anti-pigeon net: They are a very effective and safe control method that can cover large areas and surfaces of buildings and facades. The size of the net is depends on the type of birds. Nets can be attached to any structural shapes with cables. The net tension instantly blocks any birds without them becoming entangled.

They protect large surfaces by preventing birds from perching and nesting. Nets are recommended for installation on roofs, chimneys, internal courtyards and building facades.

Spike deterrents: Very effective for narrow areas where it is not possible to install anti-pigeon nets. The strips of different widths have blunt tipped rods so as not to harm the birds. They are made from materials that are highly resistant to atmospheric agents.

It is a totally harmless system for birds.

Spikes are recommended for installation on eaves, gutters and balustrades.

Advice

Birds need basic elements, such as food, water supply and shelter, to survive.

Eliminating any of these three elements should prevent their proliferation.

You should also avoid leaving waste in streets, on terraces and in gardens.
